CPI-based advertising for smartphones "GMO SmaAD"
Media and developer accounts can now be issued online
GMO TECH, Inc. (CEO: Akihito Suzuki, hereinafter referred to as GMO TECH), a GMO Internet Group company that provides online customer acquisition services, has launched an "Automatic Account Issuance Feature" for its smartphone CPI*1 ad distribution system "GMO SmaAD" on Monday, December 10, 2012, which enables users to easily and quickly join the affiliate network as a media partner by simply applying online. This feature is available to media operators, app development and management companies, and individual developers.
*1: "CPI" stands for cost-per-install, a performance-based advertising method in which costs are incurred when an app is installed via advertising.
[What is "GMO SmaAD"?]
"GMO SmaAD" is a CPI-based advertising distribution network service brand for smartphones (Android, iOS). It consists of two services: "GMO SmaAD Rewards," a reward advertising distribution service that offers incentives such as points and coins to smartphone users who download apps or register as members via ads, and "GMO SmaAD Ad Network," an ad network advertising distribution service that offers no incentives but charges CPI. Both services enable CPI-based advertising distribution, which counts app launch after installation as the achievement point. This allows advertisers to expect cost-effective advertising, while media partners such as smartphone site and app operators and individual developers can effectively create a new revenue stream. When used in conjunction with traditional CPC*2 advertising, it will contribute to further revenue growth for media partners.
*2: CPC is a performance-based advertising method in which a fee is charged for each click on an ad.
■About the provision of the "Automatic Account Issuance Feature"
Previously, in order to become a media partner and join the affiliate network at "GMO SmaAD," customers had to contact us via the website and then sign a contract via email. However, this was a time-consuming process for customers who wanted to join the affiliate network immediately.
To prevent such loss of opportunity for customers, we have started offering an "automatic account issuance function" that allows customers to easily and quickly install "GMO SmaAD" by simply applying online. This is available to customers such as smartphone site and app operators and individual developers who wish to display advertisements.
