Design One Japan Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section: 6048, President and CEO: Yasuo Takabatake), operator of Ekiten, Japan's largest all-genre word-of-mouth store search site, is pleased to announce that Ekiten has been adopted by stores operated by Komehyo Co., Ltd. (a total of 33 stores, including KOMEHYO).

History

At Ekiten, the "relaxation and body care" category currently accounts for the majority of paid listings, and we have been working to develop other categories following this category. In addition, since the store format has mainly been individual stores, we are also focusing on acquiring corporate clients that operate multiple stores.

Komehyo Co., Ltd. has chosen Ekiten for its KOMEHYO (25 stores), LINK SMILE by KOMEHYO (5 stores), and USED MARKET by KOMEHYO (3 stores), as they appreciate the ability to convey real customer feedback through word-of-mouth and to disseminate information to users in the areas where the stores are located.

Based on our corporate mission of "Invigorating the world," we will continue to expand the scope of our support for store management in order to meet the needs of stores of various genres and formats.

About "KOMEHYO"

Komehyo is a comprehensive reuse store that handles a wide range of products, including jewelry and precious metals, watches, bags, clothing, cameras, and musical instruments, based on the idea that "relay use = items fulfill their mission only when they are passed down (relay) from person to person and used effectively (reuse)."

The second-hand goods handled by Komehyo are mainly items brought in by general customers at the company's "Purchase Center," which are appraised by specialized buyers and purchased. For customers who live far away, we also purchase goods via home delivery. Before displaying and selling these products, we thoroughly check the quality and perform maintenance, etc., and have established a system to "sell reliable products at reasonable prices." We also sell new products with the aim of expanding our product lineup and creating a sense of value. Furthermore, we offer a "mail-order service" that utilizes omni-channel technology, combining physical stores and the web, to provide a more convenient and secure shopping experience.

About "Ekiten"

Ekiten was launched in June 2007 with the concept of "regional revitalization," and provides information to help users choose a store based on reviews and satisfaction ratings posted by users in a wide range of categories, including relaxation and body care, hair salons, clinics, and gourmet food. Currently, it has grown into one of Japan's largest store information databases, with a total of approximately 487 million listed stores and approximately 227 million posted reviews, and serves as a customer attraction/information provider connecting users and stores. *The number of listed stores and cumulative number of reviews is as of the end of February 2018.
